VIVACITY'S ANNA CAMPBELL
Starting your own band and getting signed can be massive amounts of work and stress these days and let's face it, who actually has time for that? Well, don't you worry - we've got you covered!
This week we caught up with new and upcoming band Vivacity's Anna Campbell to find out about her journey to becoming Best Undiscovered Band 2019. It was never easy for them to begin with of course, but Anna shows us how important it is today, more than ever, emerging artists need to be flexible and persevere!
Vivacity are an alternative 5-piece band originating from a small town in Essex, consisting of Connor (lead singer and guitar), Anna (vocals and guitar), Stan (guitar), Joe (bass) and Dan (drums). Since coming together in July 2016 and performing their first gig, they have had a crazy three years of writing songs, gigging, winning awards and making memories. Well, the wait is over! Read below to get your insight into the singers' life for the 'Last Five Years'! (Sorry - we couldn't resist!)
@sofiestarr - "Is it weird being the only girl in the group?"
ANNA; "Haha, great question Sofie! I actually love having the four guys with me in the group! We really are like a little family and I love knowing that I'll always have my four big bros looking out for me. But I know what you mean, we all need a little bit of gal time every now and then, which is why it's great to keep your friends and contacts outside of the band as well!"
@ryan_k - "What's your favourite musical? Mine's Heathers"
ANNA - "That's a great choice! I went to see Heathers on Heathers Day (come on Insiders, we know you know the day!) and it really was 'Beautiful'. As for my fave musical, that's a tough one, but I've been loving the 'Last Five Years' soundtrack recently - it's just so cleverly written and I would love to be 'A Part Of That' show one day!"
@llys007 - "What's your favourite bit about gigging?"
ANNA - "The name's Campbell, Anna Campbell ... sorry bad joke! On a more serious note, I love the thrill that I get when performing. There's something really special about being up on stage with your best friends, doing what you love and spreading the joy with the amazing audience. Each gig, the band and I get to share our music and love for performing together with the audience and that just creates such a special atmosphere and feeling - it's indescribable."
@hjs19 - "Who are your biggest influences?"
ANNA - "As a band, we have many influences from Arctic monkeys, The Foals, The Smiths, Ben Howard, Tom Odell - we're constantly being inspired by new people!"
@jojosinging - "What goes first the cereal or the milk?"
ANNA - "Obviously the bowl... No definitely the cereal, that's just the right way to start of the morning right?"
